MysteryCharges is a consumer-protection tool. We built it because most people who see an unfamiliar charge on their statement don't know whether it's fraud, a forgotten subscription, or a legitimate merchant with an unrecognizable billing descriptor — and that uncertainty causes real anxiety.

We identify the merchant behind the descriptor, explain what it likely is, and help you decide whether to dispute or let it stand. The database covers thousands of billing descriptors from common merchants, processors, and recurring services.

When you're ready to dispute, DisputeTheCharge takes it from there — your descriptor and amount carry over automatically so you don't have to type anything twice.
